BARC Information

BARC is a flex period or a 30 minute block of time at the end of the school day when students can get help, pursue interests, or complete work. Students and teachers use a program called Tiered System Support or TSS to coordinate where they go for this time each day. Teachers can pull in a student to make up a test, review content, or help with an assignment. On days they have not been pulled by a teacher, students have the freedom to sign up for a variety of activities by signing up for an open session in TSS. Students may sign up for a BARC session 7 days in advance through TSS.

PCCR Scheduler

PCCR stands for Plan for College and Career Readiness. Every year, parents and students meet with a counselor to create and review student plans for college and/or career. The counselors will provide more information on how to best achieve these goals. School counselors coordinate activities that help all students plan, monitor, and manage their own learning as well as meet competencies in the areas of:

PowerSchool and Canvas Information

Canvas Information

Parents can set up parent Canvas accounts and view the courses for which their children are enrolled. The process is simple and takes just a few minutes. Parents will need to work with their children to obtain the necessary "pairing codes" to complete the process.

Safety at North Cache Middle School

Keeping our students, employees, and school visitors safe is a top priority. We regularly review and practice safety processes and procedures in our schools.

BUILDING SECURITY
Extensive measures have been taken at each CCSD school to ensure building security. We ask that parents support these efforts by checking in at the main office whenever they visit the school. Additionally, students and parents are encouraged to report any security or safety concerns immediately. To report a safety concern, please speak with a school administrator or, to report it anonymously, utilize SafeUT.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Our district has adopted standard response protocols (SRPs) as part of our school safety plan, which establishes uniform, planned, and practiced response to an emergency or incident. Monthly drills are held at each school so students and staff can become familiar with and practice the SRPs. The SRPs are:

HOLD. Students and staff remain in the room or area.
SECURE. Students and staff are inside the building with locked exterior doors.
LOCKDOWN. Interior doors are locked, lights are off, students and staff are out of sight.
SHELTER. Students and staff shelter in place and respond to the hazard appropriately.
EVACUATE. Students and staff move to an announced location.

FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. It gives parents the right to access their child's records, request corrections, and control who can see their information. Once a student turns 18 or enrolls in college, these rights transfer to the student. Schools must have written permission to release records, except in certain cases allowed by law.

Through workshops, tutoring, and campus visits, GEAR UP empowers students to achieve their higher education goals.
